Hello, I’m Marney, wife and mumma to four beautiful children, and the hands behind every loaf at She bakes sourdough.
My sourdough journey began in 2016 but was a true one-loaf wonder—I quickly realised I didn’t have time to care for another child (aka, the sourdough starter!).
It wasn’t until a few years later, when I watched my sister sharing her beautiful daily bakes, that the spark reignited.
She shared some of her starter, showed me the ropes again, and from there, my love for sourdough truly took off.
After those first few loaves, I was completely hooked.
I found myself constantly experimenting, trying to perfect the art of sourdough and explore new flavours.
On Mother’s Day 2023, I received a pink Mason Cash mixing bowl (my favourite colour!), and that’s when the real baking frenzy began—I baked 30 loaves that week alone and gave them out to family and friends!
Since then, my passion for sourdough has only grown. It’s more than just baking; it’s a fascinating, ever-evolving craft that I absolutely love.
This little business blossomed from my joy of sharing fresh, homemade bread with loved ones, and now I’m so excited to share that love with you too.
Because honestly, is there anything better than fresh baked sourdough?
